Update on bargaining status!

On Friday Oct. 31st the CUPE 3903 bargaining team was presented some counter proposals from the university. The full article is available on the union website http://tao.ca/~cupe3903/web/?q=node/815 but I will try and break it down and cut out all the union jargon. 

                -the university does not agree to 2 year contracts

                -the demands for job security were met with a suggestion for “parameters for a framework for                       full time faculty teaching-stream positions.” This will put many CUPE members in the YUFA                           union with a base salary of $60,000 for teaching 4 full course equivalents. 


The end of the post stresses that the union is gravely concerned that the employer is not taking the union’s members livelihoods seriously.
